Your image is read and converted in this browser. It is not uploaded, saved or used for ads or analytics, and closing the page clears it, so download the PNG or print the pattern before you leave. Bead, floss and block colors on screen are approximations; check them against your own supplies.
From an image to a C2C graph
Each square on a C2C graph is one tile of corner-to-corner crochet. Set the width in tiles and the number of yarn colors; for blankets, 3 to 6 colors keeps the number of yarn bobbins manageable. The generator letters each color, counts the tiles per color and writes out every diagonal row so you can work from text instead of counting squares.
- Choose the start corner you use. Row 1 is the single corner tile; rows then run diagonally and alternate direction, shown with ↗ and ↙.
- Each row says whether to increase at both ends, decrease at both ends, or increase at one end and decrease at the other, which happens on rectangles.
- Download the written rows as a text file, or print them after the graph.
Sizing a C2C blanket
Tile size depends on your yarn, hook and tension, so crochet a small swatch of tiles and measure one tile. Multiply that by the number of tiles across and down to get the finished size before you commit to a graph.
Common questions
How do I read the written rows?
Work rows in order. The colors are listed in the order you work them along the diagonal, for example “3 A, 2 B, 3 A”. Follow the arrow for direction.
Can I make a square graph?
Yes. Tick “Crop to a square” and the width sets both sides.
